Conclusion - Bibliography

The sphygmomanometer, as I hope to have expressed in this report, is a basic instrument for every physicist; as every instrument invented by mankind, it is based on physical principles. The measurements obtained must therefore be interpreted keeping in mind those very principles.

To write this report, I took information from many websites in Italian and in English:

• Wikipedia in Italian anf in English for many information contained in the report;
• The website www.angelofarina.it for some information about the functioning of the sphygmomanometer;
• The website www.answers.com for information about turbulent flow of blood and Korotkoff sounds;
• The website of Estrella Mountain Community College for the image of the blood cells used to create the background image;
• The website www.medisave.co.uk for the sphygmomanometer image.

I used this software, under Kubuntu GNU/Linux OS:

• The browser Mozilla Firefox
• The text editor Kate from the suite KDE
• The graphics program GIMP

The report is entirely written in XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2 compatible with W3C standards; however, some browser (for example Microsoft Internet Explorer) don't support completely those standards and can therefore visualize the web pages not correctly. I suggest the use of more modern browsers as Mozilla Firefox and Opera.
