Systole

During the systole, ventricles are contracted and pump blood into the arteries. Therefore, blood pressure increases.

Diastole

During the systole, ventricles are relaxed and stop pumping blood into the arteries. Therefore, blood pressure decreases.

Stevin's Principle

Stevin's Principle is that the difference of pressure in a fluid between two heights is its density multiplied by the difference of eight multiplied by gravity acceleration.

Leonardo's Principle

Leonardo's Principle is that the section of a pipe and the velocity of a fluid flowing in it is constant. Therefore with the same mass of fluid, in a narrower pipe fluid flows with more velocity.

Laminar flow

A fluid moves in a laminar flow if every particle in it has a well-defined trajectory.

Turbulent flow

A fluid moves in a turbulent flow if every particle in it doesn't have a well-defined trajectory. It is a complex flow that can examined only with the aid of computers.

The Phonendoscope

The phonendoscope is a simple medical insturment used to auscultate sounds from the body. It is composed by a metallic circular loudspeaker connected with two gum pipes terminating with earphones.
